Flora's works are records of things seen and imagined by twilight or moonglow. She is insipred by medieval poetry and powerful, strange images from fairy tales and myths.

'I try to express a sense of enchantment; I feel embedded in our ancient landscape. I try to imagine the secret face of the land, when the light fades and the creatures come out to roam. I'm feeling for a lost or hidden magic, a glimpse through the trees of the White Hart.'

It is etchings with their atmosphere and deep mysterious blacks and glowing whites which have become Flora's preffered technique. During the long etching process, the original idea changes and grows, with the working of the metal. The Act of creation continues with the printing of the image, many are under printed with a painterly mono-collagraph plate, they demand a concentrated and meditative approach.

Flora is  a fellow of the Royal Society of Printmakers (R.E) and her work is in the collections of the British Museum, the Ashmolean Museum and the late HM the Queen.
